Georgia livestock auction report
The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending July 13, showed receipts of 15,270 head, compared to 16,703 head last year, according to the USDA to Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to two weeks ago, slaughter cows were $1 to $2 higher, bulls were steady to $2 higher, feeder steers were $1 to $4 higher, steer calves were $3 to $5 higher, heifers and heifer calves were $2 to $3 higher, replacement cows were steady to $3 higher. The offering included 6% steers over 600 pounds, 34% steers under 600 pounds, 4% heifers over 600 pounds, 26% heifers under 600 pounds, 12% feeder cows, 15% slaughter cows, and 2% bulls.
