Ericson cattle sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 3,500 head July 14, compared to 4,700 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared with two weeks ago, comparable weights and classes were too few to establish an adequate market trend, although a definite higher undertone should be noted. Demand and trade activity were very good for offerings of mostly ranched-raised, one-iron cattle with weigh-in conditions in the buyer's favor. Receipts consisted of 43% steers and 57% heifers, with 85% weighing over 600 pounds.
