Aberdeen cattle sales reportThe Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 3,163 head July 18, compared to 1,690 head last week and 1,353 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold $2 to $4 higher. There was good demand in all classes. Offerings were made up mostly of load lots of feeders in larger consignments. Steers made up 77% of the run, heifers 23%, with 97% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 353 lbs., 143.50; 7 head, 584 lbs., 131.00; 10 head, 655 lbs., 126.50; 12 head, 711 to 713 lbs., 116.00 to 118.75 (116.92); 12 head, 796 lbs., 114.50; 807 to 846 lbs., 112.25 to 114.25 (113.13); 62 head, 846 lbs., 120.00 value added; 881 to 893 lbs., 114.25 to 115.50 (114.63); 852 to 872 lbs., 120.00 value added; 911 to 938 lbs., 110.10 to 112.25 (110.85); 9 head, 994 lbs., 97.00 fleshy; 59 head, 953 lbs., 111.75 value added; 1005 to 1006 lbs., 104.00 to 106.10 (105.26); 1021 to 1028 lbs., 96.60 to 98.30 (97.90) fleshy.
