South Central direct sheep

The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending June 22, showed receipts of 10,100 head of feeder lambs and 700 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. Slaughter lambs and ewes and replacement ewes were not tested. No recent comparison for slaughter goats. Trading was active and demand good. Hot weather and needle grass continues to encourage producers to market lambs.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 10, 100 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 90 lbs., 103.00 to 108.00.

Slaughter meat goats: Texas, Kids, 700 head, Selection 1 to 2, 40 to 50 lbs., 85.00 to 95.00.
