Sioux Falls sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported receipts of 1,174 head June 25, compared to 708 head last week and 1,142 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared with last week, slaughter lambs sold steady. Slaughter ewes were steady to $1 lower. Feeder lambs were mostly steady. Receipts included about 59% slaughter lambs, 21% slaughter ewes and the balance feeder lambs and miscellaneous sheep. Slaughter lambs: Wooled Choice and Prime 2 to 4, 137 to 144 lbs., 100.50 to 104.50 (103.23); 44 head, 150 lbs., 104.50. Wooled Choice and Prime 3 to 4, 9 head, 150 lbs., 104.00. Wooled Choice 2 to 3, 112 to 128 lbs., 100.50 to 104.00 (103.03); 130 to 132 lbs., 103.00 to 104.00 (103.71). Slaughter ewes: Good 2 to 3, 150 to 155 lbs., 23.00 to 28.00 (26.58); 6 head, 178 lbs., 27.50. Good 2 to 4, 12 head, 173 lbs., 23.00. Good 3 to 4, 34 head, 151 lbs., 28.00; 13 head, 222 lbs., 21.50. Utility and Good 2 to 3, 140 to 143 lbs., 17.50 to 19.00 (18.21); 16 head, 167 lbs., 17.00. Utility and Good 3 to 4, 8 head, 156 lbs., 15.00; 13 head, 182 to 195 lbs., 16.00; 203 to 239 lbs., 16.00 to 21.00 (17.95). Cull and Utility 2 to 3, 131 to 149 lbs., 15.00 to 19.50 (16.96).
