"In the recent past, Nebraska has been the number one red meat exporting state and Japan has been our top export market, NC President Jay Wolf said. "With the international scientific community having confirmed the safety of U.S. beef that we've claimed all along, we appreciate Senators Hagel and Nelson and Representatives Fortenberry, Smith and Terry emphasizing this and uniformly calling for the Japanese to allow normal trade to resume.
