Joplin regional cattle salesThe Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 5,000 head June 25, compared to 5,700 head last week and 5,553 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers under 650 pounds were $1 to $2 lower, over 650 pounds were steady, heifers under 650 pounds were $2 to $3 lower, over 650 pounds were steady to $1 lower. Demand and supply was moderate. Several load lots of yearling steers were in the mix. Feeder cattle futures higher as corn futures trend lower. The feeder supply included 60% steers, 35% heifers, 4% bulls, with 53% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 450 to 500 lbs., 120.00 to 126.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 114.00 to 122.00; 600 to 700 108.50 to 115.00; lot 781 lbs., 106.00; 850 to 900 lbs., 105.10 to 106.90; couple loads 917 lbs., 104.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 325 to 400 lbs., 123.00 to 127.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 115.00 to 126.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 107.00 to 116.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 102.50 to 115.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 101.00 to 109.00; lot 838 lbs., 103.00. Large frame 1, 325 to 350 lbs., 124.00 to 128.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 110.00 to 118.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 105.00 to 110.00; 600 to 655 lbs., 103.50 to 107.00; 700 to 765 lbs., 103.25 to 104.50. Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 460 to 480 lbs., 83.00 to 83.50; 800 to 815 lbs., 74.00 to 75.00.
