Apache cattle sales report

Stockman's Livestock Inc., Apache, Okla., reported receipts of 2,980 head June 23, compared to 2,714 head last week and 4,358 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $1 higher. Feeder heifers were steady to $2 higher. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Demand for all classes of cattle good. Weigh-ups were average to full. The supply consisted of 43% steers, 50% heifers, 7% bulls, and 79% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls sold $3 to $4 higher. A total of 319 cows and bulls sold with 49% going to packers.

Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 666 lbs., 106.75; 5 head, 708 lbs., 109.75.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 12 head, 1075 to 1800 lbs., 61.00 to 63.50; high dressing, 66.50 to 71.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 3 to 4 years old, 1200 to 1315 lbs., 6 to 7 months bred, average blacks, 850.00 to 940.00; 5 to 6 years old, 1000 to 1100 lbs., 1 to 4 months bred, average blacks, 760.00 to 810.00; 6 to 8 years old, 1000 to 1050 lbs., 2 to 4 months bred, average blacks, 625.00 to 645.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1 years old, 750 to 810 lbs., with 150- to 200-lb. calves, average blacks, 700.00 to 760.00; 5 to 6 years old, 1030 to 1050 lbs., with 150 to 300-lb. calves, average blacks, 1100.00 to 1210.00; 7 to 9 years old, 1000 lbs., 200-lb. calves, average blacks, 900.00 to 960.00.
