Amarillo cattle sales reportThe Amarillo Livestock Auction, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 790 head June 26, compared to 1,214 head last week and 980 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 lower on a limited test. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls not enough for an adequate market test. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 250- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Trade and demand were moderate. Feeder cattle account for approximately 81% of the run with slaughter cows and bulls accounting for 19% of the run. In the feeder supply steers and bulls made up approximately 54%, heifers 46%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds 68%.
