Ada livestock sale notes

The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Okla., reported receipts of 1,035 head June 21, compared to 1,960 head last week and 2,856 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady, feeder heifers were steady to $2 lower. Demand was moderate to good on all classes. Weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium. The supply included 50% heifers and 52% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $2 higher. A total of 280 cows and bulls sold with 30% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 579 lbs., 116.00; 17 head, 630 to 632 lbs., 109.50 to 110.00 (109.76); 11 head, 718 lbs., 105.25. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 589 lbs., 114.00; 6 head, 625 to 645 lbs., 105.00; 9 head, 708 to 722 lbs., 98.50 to 100.00 (99.01).

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 508 to 531 lbs., 120.00 to 122.00 (120.84).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 511 to 520 lbs., 110.00 to 111.00 (110.20); 5 head, 605 to 648 lbs., 102.00 to 104.50 (103.46); 656 to 679 lbs., 101.50 to 102.75 (102.17). Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 510 to 543 lbs., 106.00 to 109.00 (106.84); 570 to 595 lbs., 102.50 to 106.50 (105.17); 8 head, 608 to 633 lbs., 95.00 to 102.00 (96.70).

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 35 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1750 lbs., 53.00 to 55.00; high dressing, 57.00 to 59.00; low dressing, 48.00 to 51.00. Boners, 35 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1300 lbs., 53.00 to 55.00; high dressing, 57.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 47.00 to 51.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 20 head, 1300 to 2225 lbs., 66.00 to 68.00; high dressing, 69.00 to 73.00; low dressing, 59.00 to 64.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 4 years old, 1000 to 1180 lbs., 5 to 7 months bred, average blacks, 790.00 to 920.00; 5 to 6 years old, 1100 to 1180 lbs., 5 to 6 months bred, average blacks, 860.00 to 920.00; 5 to 7 years old, 1025 to 1100 lbs., 1 to 3 months bred, average blacks, 710.00 to 810.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 2 to 3 years old, 920 to 1050 lbs., with 150- to 250-lb. calves, average to high blacks, 950.00 to 1190.00; 6 to 7 years old, 1000 to 1150 lbs., with 150- to 250-lb. calves, average to high black-black whiteface, 980.00 to 1200.00.
