Aberdeen livestock sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 2,225 head June 27, compared to 2,190 head last week and 1,832 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold $2 to $3 higher. Offerings largely made up of load lots of high quality feeders from reputation consigners. Steers made up 78% of the run, heifers 22% with 99% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 576 lbs., 130.00; 6 head, 653 lbs., 126.00 calves; 783 to 787 lbs., 105.50 to 111.50 (106.96); 18 head, 811 lbs., 108.25; 860 to 889 lbs., 103.00 to 110.10 (106.11); 901 to 940 lbs., 102.00 to 104.30 (103.89); 961 to 988 lbs., 96.75 to 99.90 (99.33); 58 head, 1018 lbs., 95.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 891 lbs., 100.75; 37 head, 957 lbs., 94.00. Large frame 1, 28 head, 904 lbs., 97.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 549 lbs., 115.00; 14 head, 721 lbs., 99.50; 778 to 787 lbs., 97.00 to 99.00 (97.45); 800 to 847 lbs., 93.00 to 100.00 (95.57); 852 to 877 lbs., 92.25 to 94.25 (93.56); 25 head, 893 lbs., 90.00 fleshy; 23 head, 967 lbs., 91.25 to 92.00 (91.77); 62 head, 1042 lbs., 92.00 fleshy. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 719 lbs., 92.00; 13 head, 793 lbs., 91.25.
