Entry forms for State Fair due July 9 through July 18

Colorado

Entries for State Fair Creative Arts will be accepted at the Morgan County Extension Center July 9 through July 18.

Creative Arts includes all types of needle arts such as quilting, embroidery, clothing, knitting, crocheting, weaving and tatting. It also includes arts and crafts of ceramics, beading, tole painting, jewelry, leather, porcelain art, wood, metal arts, and lots of others. In the pantry category it includes all areas of food preservation. Baked foods cannot be entered because exhibits will be transported to Pueblo a week before judging begins.

You do not have to previously exhibit at the Morgan County Fair to be eligible to enter State Fair. But, we do encourage exhibits that won blue ribbons at the 2006 Morgan County Fair to enter State Fair this year. Classes at State Fair are not always identical to ones at the Morgan County Fair so you need to check entry information.

Each department of State Fair Creative Arts has specific guidelines and entry fees. Information is available on the State Fair website, www.coloradostatefair.com, or at the Morgan County Extension Center, 914 E. Railroad Ave., Fort Morgan, or by calling 970-542-3544. Because entries will be transported to Pueblo, there are specific instructions for packing and labeling and how entry forms must be completed.
