Goldthwaite sheep sales

The Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Dec. 29, reported receipts of 933 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,937 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

There is no comparison available due to the reporter's absence last week. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 200 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified.

Stock and feeder lambs: Dorper, ewes, 50.00 to 80.00 per head. Barbados, bucks, 100.00 to 220.00 per head.

Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime 2 to 3, 100 to 140 lbs., 92.00 to 99.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 70 lbs., 118.00 to 126.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium flesh, 100 to 170 lbs., 52.00 to 60.00, few to 65.00. Slaughter bucks, 140 to 250 lbs., 48.00 to 58.00, few to 69.00.

Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 25 to 45 lbs., 115.00 to 124.00; 45 to 60 lbs., 107.00 to 116.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 106.00 to 117.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 75 to 140 lbs., 49.00 to 61.00, few light weights 64.00 to 70.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 90.00 to 109.00. Muttons, Selection 1, few 90 to 110 lbs., 106.00.

Replacement goats: Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 120 lbs., 80.00 to 93.00. Pairs, few 27.00 to 30.00 per head. Billies, Selection 1, couple 165.00 to 195.00.
