Women in Agriculture and Small Business Conference set for StilOklahoma The Payne County "Women in Agriculture and Small Business Conference" will be held March 10 at the Payne County Expo Center in Stillwater. The Centennial theme of the meeting is "A Century of Women in Agriculture, You're Doing Fine Oklahoma." and provides an "opportunity for women to expand their knowledge, networks, life satisfaction, and tools for use in a competitive business world", says Gail Holland, chairperson. The conference kicks off with a wine and cheese tasting and facility tour at Woodland Park Winery, March 9 at 7 p.m. The conference will have informational sessions, door prizes, a trade show featuring approximately 35 booths, and lunch will be catered by Klein's BBQ. Entertainment will be provided by Smith and Nokes comedy team. Marilyn Adams of Earlhom, Iowa will be the keynote speaker. She will be speaking on farm safety. Her passionate advocacy for farm safety is rooted in her own personal tragedy and triumph. Her story has been published in numerous publications including Guideposts Magazine. A Centennial Award will be awarded to Margaret Swank for her lifetime contribution to agriculture. Break out sessions will be Farm Safety presented by Marilyn Adams, Home Gardening presented by David Hillock from Oklahoma State University, Livestock Reproduction presented by Les Hutchens with Reproduction Enterprises, Crime is Knocking at Your Door presented by Deputy Sheriff Roy Blankenship, Grant Writing presented by Toni Shaklee from OSU, and Marketing Products on the Internet presented by Glen Muske. Oklahoma Women of the Dust Bowl will be presented by Jennifer Paustenbaugh, Director of Women's Archives at OSU. The trade show exhibits will appeal to women and men with a wide variety of interests from cosmetics, jewelry and quilts to farm safety and government programs.
