Profitability conference set for Ulysses
Western Kansas The Grant County KSU Research and Extension Service will host the 2007 Agricultural Profitability Conference for the southwest counties of Kansas Feb. 8. The conference will be held in Ulysses at the Grant County Civic Center Complex beginning at 8:45 a.m. CST. Registration fee is $15 payable at the door. The program will begin with a general session at 9:15 a.m. with Troy Dumler KSU Southwest Research & Extension Center Ag Economist giving an "Update on the 2007 Farm Bill Considerations." Beginning at 10 a.m. concurrent sessions will be held throughout the day on various topics including: Livestock Outlook; Economics of No-Till; Making Cropping Decisions w/ High Fuel and Fertilizer Prices; Cropland Leasing; Cattle Management Profit Projections; Economics of Auto Guidance Systems Use. Presenters will be a number of specialists from the Agricultural Economics Department at Kansas State University. During the noon luncheon a general session on the Grains Outlook will be given by Mike Woolverton KSU Ag Economist and the day's informational program will wrap up with a presentation on "Energy Use in Agriculture" by Kevin Dhuyvetter from KSU Ag Economics.
