Lexington livestock sales

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., Jan. 19, reported receipts of 2,800 head, compared to 2,700 head last week and 4,200 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, steer and heifer offerings trended mostly steady with a weaker undertone. Demand was good and trade activity was mostly moderate. Total receipts consisted of 65% steers and 35% heifers, with 92% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 459 to 481 lbs., 112.50 to 125.00 (115.60); 508 to 542 lbs., 112.75 to 117.00 (113.14); 19 head, 581 lbs., 111.50; 610 to 646 lbs., 95.75 to 102.85 (98.52) calves; 17 head, 606 lbs., 104.00 value added; 650 to 696 lbs., 95.50 to 101.00 (99.24) calves; 704 to 749 lbs., 94.00 to 101.25 (97.54) calves; 759 to 786 lbs., 97.35 to 99.50 (98.22) calves; 831 to 848 lbs., 96.60 to 96.75 (96.69) calves; 23 head, 830 lbs., 92.50 full; 857 to 879 (871 (93.25 to 96.50 (94.79) calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 22 head, 528 lbs., 101.25; 7 head, 599 lbs., 105.00) calves; 8 head, 638 lbs., 92.50) calves; 688 to 694 lbs., 90.75 to 92.00 (91.38) calves; 15 head, 744 lbs., 96.50 calves.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 492 lbs., 97.50; 522 to 530 lbs., 103.50 to 104.50 (104.20); 20 head, 598 lbs., 93.00) calves; 612 to 643 lbs., 92.00 to 97.50 (95.75) calves; 81 head, 657 lbs., 95.75 to 102.50 (99.33); 667 to 691 lbs., 91.25 to 94.00 (93.44) calves; 719 to 741 lbs., 93.00 to 95.60 (93.87) calves; 90 head, 779 lbs., 94.25 calves; 804 to 838 lbs., 91.75 to 95.10 (94.33) calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 22 head, 446 lbs., 100.00; 570 to 586 lbs., 93.75 to 95.00 (94.13).
