Kansas Limousin breeders prep for annual meeting and saleKansas The Kansas Limousin Breeders Association is planning their Annual Meeting, Banquet, Benefit Auction and the 15th Annual Sale on March 31 and April 1 in Salina. The hotel headquarters is the Econo Lodge (Travel Lodge) at 1949 North 9th Street this is just off the #252 Exit off of Interstate 70. There is a block of room reserved for the Kansas Limousin Breeders Association, call them at 785-825-8211 and remember to ask for this block of rooms. The annual meeting will be held in the afternoon at the Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Company in the sale barn café. The sale barn is located off of Interstate 70 (Exit 250) onto southbound 135 to the State Street Exit (#93 Exit). The junior association will be having a meeting sometime in the afternoon before the banquet. The annual meeting banquet will be held at the Econo Lodge and the meal will be prepared and served by the Kansas Junior Limousin Breeders Association, this is a fundraiser for the junior members. After the great meal that they prepared we will be having the benefit auction to end the evening activities. All members should be thinking of things they could donate or they can go out and get donations from some of their suppliers they do business with during the year. KLBA will also be accepting donations of bull semen, which will also be offered at the benefit auction. If this is done ahead of time we will be able to make up a supplement sheet listing their EPD's and other important information on each bull. After a fun night of fellowship we hope everyone will attend the 15th Annual Kansas Limousin Breeders Sale at the Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Company on Sunday, April 1st. The sale will begin at 1:00 P.M. and the auctioneer for this year is Chisum Peterson from Chamberlain, SD. All current KLBA members will receive their sale rules and nomination forms by email or US Postal mail in the next week or so. If you are not currently a KLBA member and wish to consign to the auction, please contact Jerry Meek, sale chairman at 913-898-2700, 913-594-2365 or e-mail him at limobull@wildblue.net or jmeek@mccraylumber.com for more information. The nomination deadline if Feb. 15, so their will be time to get the catalog organized and printed. The sale will have consignments from breeders across the State of Kansas and will be featuring bulls, cow/calf pairs, spring and fall bred cows and heifers and open heifers, which many would make great, show heifers.
