South Central direct sheep

The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Jan. 26, showed receipts of 1,200 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Trading was at a standstill, demand was light. Supplies are very limited. Slaughter meat goats had no recent comparisons. Slaughter ewes and replacement ewes were not tested. Wet winter weather has further added to the slow trade.

Slaughter meat goats: Texas, 1200 head, Selection 1, 65 to 70 lbs., 111.00 to 115.00. Selection 1 to 2, 60 to 65 lbs., 105.00 to 108.00.
