The site assists producers in applying for financial assistance through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program offered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service as well as other NRCS and Missouri Department of Conservation cost-share programs. The website is a collaborative effort between NRCS, the University of Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program and MU Forestry Center, the Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Pork Association, Missouri Department of Agriculture and Missouri Farm Service Agency. Livestock producers can receive a wide range of information about the design, implementation and maintenance of using rows of trees, shrubs and grasses to create a visual screen and odor control mechanism customized to their facility needs, said Rex Ricketts, MU Commercial Agriculture Program director. Information includes cost-share opportunities through NRCS, MDC and FSA, examples of shelter belt plans, budget worksheets, guides to plant selection and sources for the purchase of plants, irrigation equipment , other needed components and state-wide service providers.
