Pratt livestock auction report
Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,794 head Feb. 16, compared to 2,863 head last week and 4,517 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers and feeder heifers at 300 to 650 pounds were not enough for market test but a steady undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 650 to 1000 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers at 650 to 850 pounds were steady to $2 higher in a light supply. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 higher. Receipts included 86% 600 pounds and over, 7% 600 pounds and under, 7% cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 68% steers and 32% heifers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 3 head, 418 lbs., 113.00; 8 head, 488 lbs., 118.00; 6 head, 546 lbs., 117.50; 32 head, 599 lbs., 106.00; 36 head, 624 lbs., 102.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 103.00 to 105.25 (103.46); 700 to 750 lbs., 99.00 to 100.50 (100.10); 750 to 800 lbs., 97.50 to 100.75 (98.71); 800 to 850 lbs., 96.50 to 99.85 (99.19); 850 to 900 lbs., 95.00 to 98.00 (97.06); 900 to 950 lbs., 94.10 to 97.35 (96.20); 950 to 1000 lbs., 95.00 to 97.50 (96.85).
