Physique, Rembrandt earn gold Medals of ExcellenceAttendees at the North American Limousin Foundation Member Social on Jan. 7 in Denver, Colo., learned the final standings for the 2006 Medal of Excellence show program. The MOE point system gives attention to show-winning animals, their sires and their dams on an annual, calendar-year basis. The gold-medal show bull was EXLR Physique 7200P, owned by Heart Felt Farms, Gettysburg, Pa., and Express Ranches, Yukon, Okla., with 220 points from seven shows. Magness Land and Cattle, Platteville, Colo.; Lawrence Family Limousin, Anton, Texas; Kervin Cattle Co., Winnfield, La.; and Lance Hall Cattle Co., Sweetwater, Texas, shared the silver medal for the 140 points that DHVO Deuce 132R earned at four shows. Claiming the bronze with 126 points from six shows was LFL El Patron 4018P, owned by Lee Roy Lawrence, Anton, Texas. The gold-medal female, with 170 points from six shows, was MAGS Rembrandt, owned by Magness Land and Cattle and Sugarbush Farms, Allen, Mich. The silver medal went to JBRH Sheza Passion, owned by Shane Waldemar, Lynden, Wash., with 148 points from 10 shows. Waldemar's JBRH Sheza Ruby had 145 points from nine shows, earning the bronze medal. With 2,354 points from 104 progeny, GPFF Blaque Rulon earned gold-medal honors among the breed's sires for Kervin Cattle Co. The silver medal went to Express Ranches for AUTO Black Dakota 129J, which earned 1,414 points from 63 progeny. Etherton Farms, Dawson, Ill.; Magness Land and Cattle; and Express Ranches shared the bronze medal for the 1,220 points EF Main Stay 541 received from 50 progeny. In the dams' point standings, JBRH Sheza Dandy, owned by JB Ranch, Lynden, Wash., won the gold medal with 443 points from six progeny. With 313 points from four progeny, Amy Jo DHAN 20L earned the silver medal for D'Hanis-Aelvoet Limousin, San Antonio, Texas. The bronze medal went to Magness Land and Cattle for MAGS Mandarin 425L's 259 points from five progeny. The North American Limousin Foundation (www.nalf.org), headquartered in Englewood, Colo., provides programs and services--including genetic evaluation of 5,000 active sires--to about 4,000 members and their commercial customers.
