OK Farmers Union Mutual Insurance changes nameOne of the region's oldest and best-known organizations wears a new name. The Board of Directors of the former Oklahoma Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Company changed its name to the American Farmers and Ranchers (AFR) Mutual Insurance Company during the organization's 102nd annual convention being held in the Cox Center in downtown Oklahoma City, a move that AFR President and Chief Executive Officer Ray L. Wulf says will usher in a prosperous new era for the mutual company. "The name change is a sound business decision, which will permit us to expand our base, spread our underwriting risks and preserve the heritage of our company," says Wulf. "Today, the members truly positioned AFR for another century of financial security and service to not only Oklahomans, but all Americans." The name change affects only the mutual insurance company that carries the Oklahoma Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Company label. C 5 2/26/07 None Date: 2/19/07
