111 Limousin, Lim-Flex Cattle show on the hill in DenverThe National Western Stock Show Limousin and Lim-Flex open shows were Jan. 9 in the Stadium Arena on the Hill in Denver. The NWSS is one of the North American Limousin Foundation's four Medal of Excellence Level 1 shows; and a good crowd gathered to watch judge Kevin Jensen, Courtland, Kan., sort the 17 Lim-Flex females, six Lim-Flex bulls, 70 Limousin females and 18 Limousin bulls. In the Limousin bull show, EXLR Rodeo Drive 743R won the grand champion banner after winning Division 5. Express Ranches, Yukon, Okla., and Larry Simmons Farms, Coolville, Ohio, own the March 17, 2005, son of LESF Asphalt 9N. The reserve grand champion Limousin bull was DHVO Deuce 132R, the Division 5 reserve champion. The March 13, 2005, son of GPFF Blaque Rulon belongs to Magness Land and Cattle, Platteville, Colo.; Lawrence Family Limousin, Anton, Texas; Kervin Cattle Co., Winnfield, La.; and Lance Hall Cattle Co., Sweetwater, Texas. MAGS Ramada, the winner of Division 4, went on to claim the title of grand champion Limousin female. Magness Land and Cattle and DJ Limousin, Port Orchard, Wash., own the April 9, 2005, daughter of TNUH Blue Print 245H. Ashton Jo DHVO 720R also came from Division 4 to become reserve grand champion Limousin female. Brittainy Barton, Jarrell, Texas; Magness Land and Cattle; Lawrence Family Limousin; Kervin Cattle Co.; and Lance Hall Cattle Co. own the March 8, 2005, daughter of GPFF Blaque Rulon. Grand champion honors in the Lim-Flex bull show went to EXLR Right Of Way 177R, the Division 3 winner and an April 8, 2005, son of LESF Asphalt 9N out of EXAR Scotch Cap 1548. Express Ranches owns him. Magness Land and Cattle owns the reserve grand champion Lim?Flex bull. MAGS Smudge, a May 6, 2006, son of BR Midland out of MAGS Marquee, first won Division 1. EXLR Ms Touch 026S came from Division 1 to win grand champion Lim-Flex female. Express Ranches and Diehm Family Limousin, Kendallville, Ind., own the Feb. 22, 2006, daughter of LESF Asphalt 9N out of 3R Ms Touch 51H 21M. JCL Blackcap Effie claimed reserve grand champion Lim-Flex female for Counsil Family Limousin, Madisonville, Texas, and P Bar S Ranch, Sand Springs, Okla. The Division 1 reserve champion is an April 15, 2006, daughter of KRVN Naskar 013N out of Willows 9820N. Deer Valley Farm, Fayetteville, Tenn., swept the group classes. It had the top produce of dam with its DVFC Monica 136H progeny and the top junior get of sire with its EXLR Native 7133N progeny. It also had the best five head. JCL Land and Cattle, Welch, Okla., claimed the Premier Breeder honors. Counsil Family Limousin was the Premier Exhibitor. The previous day, in the juniors' female show, judge Roger Deiter, Faulkton, S.D., selected EXLR Replay 7169R as grand champion from among 30 entries. Dillon Doublehead, Cody, Wyo., exhibited the April 3, 2005, daughter of LESF Asphalt 9N. SHPM Dream Weaver--a June 2, 2005, daughter of DVFC 376G--was reserve grand champion for Katie Crow, Leslie, Ark. Lee Roy Lawrence, Anton, Texas, received champion showman honors. The North American Limousin Foundation (www.nalf.org), headquartered in Englewood, Colo., provides programs and services--including genetic evaluation of 5,000 active sires--to nearly 4,000 members and their commercial customers.
