Women's health event, celebrity chef added to MSGA convention

Montana Stockgrowers Association recently announced that a new, featured event for women has been added to the MSGA annual convention in Billings, Dec. 14 and 15.

MSGA has partnered with Montana Beef Council and the Spirit of Women organizations affiliated with St. Vincent Healthcare (Billings) and Holy Rosary Healthcare (Miles City) to bring a three-hour entertaining and educational women's health event to the convention. Celebrity Chef Devin Alexander is the featured presenter for a one-hour, live heart-healthy cooking show. Alexander is the chef from TV's "The Biggest Loser" and the Discovery Health Channel's "Healthy Decadence."

Other highlights of the Spirit of Women event include:

--Education on "women and heart disease" and "the power of mind in our overall health";

--Health screenings (BMI and cholesterol);

--Mini-massage break;

--Yoga lesson;

--Door prizes and a chance to win a $500 shopping spree.

Tickets have been divided into two categories; a particular number of tickets are reserved specifically for MSGA members and a lot of tickets are available to non-MSGA members.

The event will take place Dec. 15 from 8:45 a.m. to noon at the Holiday Inn Trade Center. Pre-registration, by calling 1-877-SPRT-WMN, is required. Cost to attend is $10 for Spirit of Women members and $20 for non-members. MSGA members can attend for free ,if registered for convention. $25 cholesterol screenings will also be done. If you choose to receive the screening, you will automatically be signed up for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree.
