KSU cattle program set Jan. 15

Kansas

A cattle program will be held Jan. 15 at 5 p.m., at the VFW Hall in Minneapolis.

K.C. Olson, KSU associate professor, cow/calf nutrition, will discuss winter grazing for cows. Larry Hollis, KSU Research and Extension beef production medicine, will talk about a replacement heifer health program and scours management. Mark Spire, technical services manager for Schering-Plough Animal Health, will discuss how to control inflammation when using vaccines and other injectables.

Reservations for the meal can be made by calling the Minneapolis Extension office 785-392-2147 or the Salina Extension office 785-309-5850 by noon Jan. 11. There is a charge for the meal.

The meeting is sponsored by the Central Kansas Extension District, Ada Grain, Bank of Tescott, Bennington State Bank, Delphos Coop, Mid Kansas Coop, Farm Credit Services of Salina, State Bank of Delphos, Ottawa County Bank, and Schering-Plough Animal Health.
