Colorado feeder cattle report
The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 5,050 head Dec. 21, compared to 5,293 head last week and 2,550 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing under 600 pounds were $1 to $2 higher, over 600 pounds were mostly steady. Feeder heifers were mostly steady to $1 higher. Demand was moderate to good, with best demand for lighter weight calves. The supply was made up of 54% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 40% of total supply over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 320 to 330 lbs., 145.00 to 146.00; 350 to 400 lbs., 128.00 to 140.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 125.00 to 135.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 121.00 to 128.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 115.50 to 127.00; 550 to 590 lbs., 112.50 to 122.00; 600 to 650 lb. calves 107.00 to 114.50; 650 to 680 lb. calves 102.00 to 110.00; 700 to 750 lb. calves 101.00 to 108.25; 760 to 800 lbs., 102.50 to 105.25, calves 780 lbs., 105.00; 860 to 890 lbs., 100.00 to 104.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 410 to 450 lbs., 118.00 to 127.00; 460 to 500 lbs., 118.50 to 120.50; 500 to 550 lbs., 110.00 to 119.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 104.00 to 111.00; 600 to 640 lb. calves 102.50 to 105.00; 725 to 730 lbs., 100.25 to 102.50; 930 lbs., 93.50; 1055 lbs., 91.75.
