Bids end the day lower
According to the National Grain Market Summary, Dec. 21, grain and soybean bids were higher except wheat which was lower on the day. Corn found support from strong demand. Soybeans ended on a positive note due to higher outside markets. Wheat was mostly 5 to 7 cents lower. Corn was 6 cents higher. Sorghum was 10 to 11 cents higher. Soybeans were 15 to 20 cents higher. In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $9.68 3/4, down 7 1/2 cents. Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $9.39, down 7 cents; Minneapolis, $11.08, down 7 cents; Portland, $12.90 to $13.05, unchanged; St. Louis, $8.64, down 5 cents. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $4.29, up 6 cents; Minneapolis, $4.04 1/2, up 6 cents; southern Iowa, $4.05 1/2 to $4.12, up 6 to 6 1/2 cents; Omaha, $4.25 to $4.28, up 6 cents. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $11.14, up 17 cents; Minneapolis, no bids; southern Iowa, $11.30 to $11.35, up 15 1/4 to 20 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $11.42 1/2 to $11.52 1/2, up 16 3/4 cents. Kansas City wheat prices Dec. 21, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $9.59 3/4 to $10.28 3/4, down 7 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $10.17 3/4 to $10.50 3/4, down 7 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $10.44 3/4 to $10.71 3/4, down 7 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $10.59 3/4 to $10.74 3/4, down 7 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was $9.63 3/4 to $9.98 3/4, down 7 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $4.46 to $4.51, unchanged. Date: 12/24/07
