Woodward cattle sales report
The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 650 head Dec. 14, compared to 5,635 head last week and 6,828 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to two weeks ago, there were not enough of any class or weight to test the market fully, although a lower undertone was evident. Winter storms across the region and forecasts of more restricted cattle movement. The supply included 41% feeders over 600 pounds and 50% heifers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 21 head, 394 lbs., 126.00; 11 head, 518 lbs., 128.00 value added; 7 head, 601 lbs., 115.00 value added; 702 to 716 lbs., 108.00; 3 head, 702 lbs., 97.00 calves; 16 head, 832 lbs., 103.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 33 head, 483 lbs., 115.00; 35 head, 525 lbs., 107.00. Medium and large frame 2, 12 head, 454 to 493 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00 (102.40); 14 head, 574 lbs., 100.00; 9 head, 675 lbs., 102.00 calves; 61 head, 862 lbs., 99.00 fleshy. Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 4 head, 429 lbs., 116.00; 3 head, 465 lbs., 108.00; 3 head, 518 lbs., 95.00; 3 head, 573 lbs., 95.00.
