Tulia livestock market reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,055 head Dec. 17, compared to 3,041 head last week and 3,944 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 600 pounds were $1 to $2 higher, over 600 were $2 to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 to $2 higher. Trade was moderate and demand moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 500- to 700-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 80% and slaughter cows and bulls 20% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 67% of the run, heifers 33%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 57%. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, few 325 lbs., 131.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 109.50 to 130.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 104.50 to 115.25; 600 to 700 lbs., 104.50 to 106.50; pen 724 lbs., 101.00; few 808 lbs., 106.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 500 to 600 lbs., 101.00 to 104.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00, 600 to 700 lb. calves 90.00 to 99.00; loads 763 lbs., 106.50, 700 to 783 lbs., fleshy 94.00 to 97.50; loads 868 lbs., 103.25. Medium and large frame 2 to 3, part load 693 lbs., 86.50. Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 112.00 to 118.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 106.50 to 112.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 92.50 to 104.25; 600 to 700 lbs., 91.00 to 95.50; pen 721 lbs., 91.75; lot 819 lbs., 88.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2: 300 to 400 lbs., 112.50 to 119.00; pen 486 lbs., 101.00; pen 569 lbs., 94.50; part load 770 lbs., 100.50. Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 40.00 to 49.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 35.00 to 39.00.
