Springfield dairy cattle saleThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 577 head Dec. 18, compared to 871 head last month and 779 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo. Demand was moderate. Supply was light with 15% springer heifers, 10% bred heifers, 25% open heifers, 2% fresh and milking cows, 4% bred and springer cows, and 10% calves. Holsteins unless noted otherwise. Prices per head. Springer heifers: Bred seven to nine months, Supreme 1985.00 to 2175.00. Approved 1620.00 to 1975.00. Medium 1225.00 to 1575.00. Common 560.00 to 690.00. Heifers, bred three to six months, Supreme Individual 1975.00. Approved 1325.00 to 1625.00, Individual Crossbred 1525.00. Medium, few 800.00 to 850.00.
