Springfield cattle sales reportThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 1,631 head Dec. 12, compared to 4,560 head last week and 4,032 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers, Holsteins and heifers were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was moderate to light, supply moderate. Weigh-ups were mostly full. Winter ice storms across the Midwest curtailed receipts and kept several buyers out of the market. The feeder supply included 48% steers, 11% Holsteins, 34% heifers, 8% bulls, with 55% over 600 pounds.
