High Plains slaughter reportHigh Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Dec. 9, totaled 104,679 head, compared to 186,306 head last week and 192,413 head last year, according to the USDA-Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
