High Plains slaughter newsHigh Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Dec. 16, totaled 159,364 head, compared to 104,679 head last week and 158,601 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
