Georgia cattle sales reportThe summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending Dec. 14, showed receipts of 11,602 head, compared to 12,862 head last week and 10,462 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were $2 higher, feeder steers were unevenly steady, heifers were $1 to $2 lower, steer calves were steady to $2 lower, heifer calves were $1 to $3 lower, replacement cows were steady to $1 lower. The offering was made up of 8% steers over 600 pounds, 33% steers under 600 pounds, 6% heifers over 600 pounds, 28% heifers under 600 pounds, 9% feeder cows, 15% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
