Ericson livestock sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 4,750 head Dec. 15, compared to 3,000 head last week and 6,300 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, feeder calves trended $2 to $5 higher. Instances of $10 higher on load lots and reputation cattle. Cattle quality was average to good. Demand and prices were very erratic with farmer/feeders competing against the usual run of order buyers. Receipts consisted of 59% steers and 41% heifers, 40% over 600 pounds.
