Dodge City livestock salesDodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 1,321 head Dec. 12, compared to 4,013 head last week and 4,223 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, on a very light test, steers at 450 to 800 pounds were weak to $3 lower, and 800 to 900 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Heifers were not enough for an adequate test, with a lower undertone, except 750- to 850-pound heifers were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter cows were steady. There were not enough slaughter bulls for test. Trade and demand were light to moderate. Receipts included 81% over 600 pounds, 12% under 600 pounds and 7% slaughter cows and bulls with 119 early. The feeder supply consisted of 59% steers and 41% heifers.
