Denison feeder cattle saleThe Denison Feeder Cattle Auction, Denison, Iowa, reported receipts of 2,831 head Dec. 13, compared to 2,484 head last week and 2,210 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special feeder cattle sale. Demand was moderate. Compared to two weeks ago, steer and heifers were $5 to $8 with instances $10 lower. Wider ranges were due to vaccination, weaning status, and flesh scores. The cattle were carrying some flesh, and the quality was average. Receipts included 54% over 600 pounds, 41% feeder heifers and 59% feeder steers.
