Tulia livestock market reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 3,041 head Dec. 10, compared to 2,570 head last week and 2,629 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were mostly steady, those at 600 to 700 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 higher. Trade was moderate and demand moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400- to 700-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 90% and slaughter cows and bulls 10% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 68% of the run, heifers 32%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 76%. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, package 371 lbs., 102.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 116.50 to 124.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 108.00 to 113.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 100.00 to 104.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 95.00 to 103.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 115.00 to 123.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 107.00 to 113.25; 600 to 700 lbs., 100.00 to 109.75, calves 96.00 to 99.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 100.00 to 108.50; 800 to 900 lbs., 109.00 to 109.35, 800 to 900 lbs., fleshy 100.00 to 101.50. Medium and large frame 2 to 3, 500 to 600 lbs., 94.50 to 99.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 91.75 to 95.00. Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, package 391 lbs., 116.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 107.50 to 109.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 92.50 to 100.00; loads 649 lbs., 103.00, 600 to 700 lb. calves 92.50 to 98.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 104.00 to 109.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 95.00 to 109.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 92.50 to 97.25; 600 to 700 lbs., 101.00 to 103.00, calves 94.00 to 98.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 96.00 to 103.00.
