Huron cattle sales report
The Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 2,059 head Dec. 11, compared to 1,793 head last week and 1,525 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers sold steady to $2 higher. Feeder heifers sold unevenly steady. Demand and price driven by weaned cattle with a shot program. Steers comprised 54% of the run, heifers 46%, with 77% of the run over 600 pounds.
