Georgia cattle auction report
The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending Dec. 7, totaled 12,862 head, compared to 13,667 head last week and 10,608 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were steady to $2 lower, bulls were steady to $1 lower, feeder steers were $1 to $3 lower, heifers were $1 to $2 lower, steer calves were steady to $3 lower, heifer calves were steady to $2 lower, replacement cows were $1 to $3 higher. The offering included 9% steers over 600 pounds, 33% steers under 600 pounds, 7% heifers over 600 pounds, 29% heifers under 600 pounds, 9% feeder cows, 12% slaughter cows, and 2% bulls.
