Apache cattle sales report
Stockman's Livestock Inc., Apache, Okla., reported receipts of 3,050 head Dec. 8, compared to 4,253 head last week and 4,676 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Steer and heifer calves were $1 to $2 lower. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. Weigh-ups were mostly full. The supply included 35% steers, 59% heifers, 5% bulls and 77% over 600 pounds. Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 563 cows and bulls sold with 40% going to packers.
