Texhoma cattle sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 785 head Dec. 5, compared to 1,072 head last week and 698 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, there was no test on feeders. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average. The supply included 34% steers, 56% heifers with 54% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 182 cows and bulls sold with 46% going to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 308 lbs., 148.00; 5 head, 376 lbs., 141.00; 8 head, 473 lbs., 126.00; 12 head, 578 lbs., 115.00; 660 to 685 lbs., 109.00 to 110.50 (110.00) calves; 70 head, 675 lbs., 113.00 value added. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 454 lbs., 117.50. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 376 lbs., 127.00; 7 head, 714 lbs., 105.50. Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 540 lbs., 110.00; 21 head, 575 lbs., 100.00; 7 head, 671 lbs., 93.00 calves. Small and medium frame 2, 18 head, 490 lbs., 110.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 426 to 432 lbs., 110.25 to 111.00 (110.67); 468 to 482 lbs., 102.50 to 106.50 (106.03); 14 head, 526 to 548 lbs., 100.00 to 103.25 (102.29); 10 head, 564 lbs., 97.75; 75 head, 595 lbs., 106.75 value added; 617 to 631 lbs., 100.00 to 104.50 (102.52) calves; 70 head, 685 lbs., 106.85 value added.
