Springfield livestock salesThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 3,882 head Nov. 28, compared to 568 head two weeks ago and 2,808 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. There were not enough last week for a good market test. Compared to two weeks ago, steers under 450 pounds were $3 to $5 higher, 450 to 700 pounds were steady, over 700 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Holsteins under 600 pounds were steady to $5 higher on a light test, over 600 pounds were steady to $3 lower, heifers under 550 pounds were $2 to $5 higher, over 550 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Demand was moderate to good, supply heavy. Western feedlots started trading fed cattle early at $95 to $95.50. The feeder supply included 41% steers, 8% Holsteins, 39% heifers, 12% bulls, with 45% over 600 pounds.
