Springfield dairy cattle saleThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 871 head Nov. 27, compared to 766 head last month and 930 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo. This is a special dairy heifer sale. Demand was good. The supply was moderate with 12% springer heifers, 20% bred heifers, 30% open heifers, 2% fresh and milking cows, 5% bred and springer cows, and 10% calves. Holsteins unless noted otherwise. Prices per head. Springer heifers: Bred seven to nine months, Supreme 1950.00 to 2300.00, individual Crossbred 1975.00. Approved 1500.00 to 1950.00, individual Jersey 1875.00, Crossbreds 1400.00 to 1725.00. Medium 1200.00 to 1425.00, Crossbreds 850.00 to 1050.00.
