Salina cattle auction report
The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 4,831 head, Nov. 30, compared to 3,513 head, two weeks ago and 2,645 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with the previous sale two weeks ago, steers at 300 to 700 pounds were steady to $3 higher, and 700 to 950 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Heifers at 450 to 700 pounds were steady to firm, and 700 to 850 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were not tested. Trade was active. Demand was good. Receipts included 68% 600 pounds and over, 31% 600 pounds and under, 1% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 56% steers and 44% heifers.
