Huron cattle sales report
The Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 1,793 head Dec. 4, compared to 2,225 head last week and 1,650 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold $1 to $2 lower. Demand and price driven by weaned cattle with shots. Steers comprised 51% of the run, heifers 49% of the run, with 44% of over 600 pounds.
