High Plains slaughter report
High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Dec. 2, totaled 186,306 head, compared to 189,211 head last week and 155,060 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 4,062 head, 1,300 to 1,475 lbs., 92.50 to 96.00 (94.13); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,569 head, 1,225 to 1,475 lbs., 93.00 to 95.50 (94.69); 35 to 65% Choice, 47,377 head, 1,100 to 1,475 lbs., 93.00 to 96.00 (95.15); 0 to 35% Choice, 2,852 head, 1,160 to 1,440 lbs., 93.00 to 95.50 (94.78).
