Goldthwaite sheep sales

The Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Nov. 30, reported receipts of 2,767 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,228 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs were steady. Slaughter kids were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including near 450 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified.

Stock and feeder: Barbados ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 45.00 to 60.00. Barbados bucks 100.00 to 200.00 per head.

Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime 2 to 3, set 90 lbs., 106.00; Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 80 lbs., 110.00 to 127.00, few to 135.00. Slaughter bucks, 130 to 160 lbs., 45.00 to 60.00. Barbados, lambs, 45 to 70 lbs., 90.00 to 105.00. Ewes, 75 to 100 lbs., 45.00 to 51.00.

Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 110.00 to 118.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 108.00 to 117.00. Selection 2, 60 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 107.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 42.00 to 50.00, thin 30.00 to 35.00. Billies, 90 to 230 lbs., 85.00 to 100.00, few light weights 100.00 to 110.00. Muttons, Selection 1, 90 to 120 lbs., 90.00 to 105.00.

Replacement goats: Kids, Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 120 lbs., 60.00 to 80.00. Billies, Selection 1, 100 to 195 lbs., 90.00 to 109.00.
