Georgia livestock sales report
The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending Nov. 30, reported receipts of 13,667 head, compared to 13,869 head last year, according to the USDA-Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were $1 to $2 lower, bulls were steady to $1 lower, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 higher, steer calves were $1 to $2 higher, heifer calves were steady to $2 higher, replacement cows were steady to $2 higher. The offering included 6% steers over 600 pounds, 35% steers under 600 pounds, 5% heifers over 600 pounds, 28% heifers under 600 pounds, 9% feeder cows, 15% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
