Ericson cattle sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 1,600 head Dec. 1, compared to 5,300 head last week and 3,000 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Due to a winter ice storm receipts were curtailed and comparable offerings to last week were too few to establish an adequate market trend. Offerings consisted of 52% steers and 48% heifers with 15% of the total feeders weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 107 head, 379 lbs., 147.00; 406 to 411 lbs., 140.75 to 144.25 (142.84); 462 to 481 lbs., 131.00 to 135.50 (134.23); 501 to 534 lbs., 122.00 to 123.75 (122.67); 565 to 585 lbs., 114.50 to 118.25 (117.09); 20 head, 612 lbs., 113.50 calves; 666 to 689 lbs., 107.50 to 109.25 (108.24) calves; 707 to 731 lbs., 103.00 to 108.25 (107.02) calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 473 to 487 lbs., 124.50 to 128.50 (127.12); 19 head, 547 lbs., 116.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 367 to 398 lbs., 125.00 to 133.00 (128.55); 404 to 446 lbs., 116.50 to 120.25 (118.94); 38 head, 450 lbs., 124.75; 506 to 518 lbs., 115.25 to 116.50 (115.93); 94 head, 564 lbs., 111.50; 600 to 635 lbs., 101.75 to 105.10 (104.17) calves.
